Groups set to welcome country's health ministers to Vancouver Jan. 20
Public health care advocates will be on hand to deliver a message to Ottawa that it's time to renew public health care
Vancouver, B.C. - On Jan. 20, leaders from several public health care organizations will hold a special event near the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver to urge provincial and federal leaders to renew Canada's public health system. Over the past decade, public health care has been seriously neglected - hospitals are overcrowded, wait lists have grown and drug costs have soared. Canada's health care ministers are meeting at the Hotel Vancouver for two days of talks on a new national agreement on the future of medicare.
